Our day party Old Gold returns for its third edition with a very special guest all the way from sunny LA! Jazzabella will be joining Tess on the decks for a double dose of easy, breezy vintage vibes at the Ace Hotel's rooftop bar Waydown, spinning all-vinyl from 4pm til the sun sets.
About Jazzabella: Staying true to the vinyl culture for ten years, Priscilla Anguiano-Martinez aka DJ Jazzabella has made a name for herself amongst DJs and music aficionados alike rocking crowds from LA to Barcelona to Amsterdam. Last year, the LA-based and born artist founded the all-female DJ crew Girls Gone Vinyl LA, a collective featuring "all girls, all vinyl, all styles." This Sunday she'll bring her love for jazz, disco, soul, hip hop and house to Chicago flying with her records cross country to join Old Gold resident DJ Tess on the decks. "Old Gold: Grown Music for Grown People" takes place the first Sunday of each month in summertime with host Kristen Kaza and DJ Tess + a rotation of special guests spinning vintage vinyl vibes of R&B, funk, disco & house. All vinyl, all day, all good vibes, always free. A sister party of "Slo 'Mo: Slow Jams for Queer Fam," "Old Gold" invites queer family & allies of all generations, races, identities, and expressions to join in the groove. Age ain't nothin but a number! Grown is a state of mind and sense of self. As with all Slo 'Mo parties, we unite and bond over our love for the music.
