You are cordially summoned to “The Coven Classic,” a night of women, femme powered magic presented by Slo ‘Mo Party. All-women & trans band band Femme/Slash return to the Sleeping Village stage covering sexy, spooky classics from Fleetwood Mac to FKA Twigs and Grace Jones to Nina Simone.
For too long the magic of witches, brujas and powerful beings have been repressed, destroyed or denied. “The Coven Classic” is a celebration of the witch within, especially uplifting the queer, trans, femme, black and brown healers and vibe dealers of our community.
Sleeping Village is a wheelchair accessible space and gender neutral restrooms will be offered during “The Coven Classic.” The event is 21+ and a fog machine will be used.
SLO ‘MO: SLOW JAMS FOR QUEER FAM is Chicago’s parties for lovers produced by Kristen Kaza, featuring a rotation of LGBTQ+ & allied DJs playing R&B, soul, hip hop, jazz and funk from the seventies to today. Slo ‘Mo welcomes people of all identities, bodies and expressions through the celebration of music and LGBTQ+ community. No homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism or other hateful or harmful behavior will be tolerated.
Parties take place throughout Chicago including its monthly residencies: “Slo ‘Mo at the Whistler” third Thursdays with resident DJ Audio Jack & friends, day party “Old Gold at the Ace Hotel” First Sundays with DJ Tess & friends.
