The Story
What began as a monthly dance party at famed cocktail bar The Whistler in 2011 has grown into a pillar of queer community programming in Chicago.
Slo ‘Mo has conceived numerous events driven by a mission to bring LGBTQ+ family together, including: Live concerts and comedy, dance, DJ, yoga & cooking classes, variety shows, pool parties, game nights, cultural exhibitions, New Year’s Eve soirees and numerous Pride celebrations. The Present
We’re grateful and excited to be creating space for queer joy and connection again. In Spring of 2022, we returned to live programming at Sleeping Village, the Whistler’s larger sister space with expansive capacity including a bar with ample seating, large outdoor patio, and state-of-the-art music venue.
Slo ‘Mo also produces numerous events across Chicago, including our 30+ all-vinyl day party Old Gold, our family-friendly Queer Fam Pride Jam festival and more.
