Slo ‘Mo Party presents a hair swinging, sweat flinging, larger-than-life performance to celebrate vinyl record release of “Chaotic Good,” the third studio album from Tunde Olaniran, an artist who subverts the status quo and delivers a genre-bending blend of pop, soul, and experimental electronic sounds. Known for their energy, unique choreography, intimacy, and emotional resonance, Olaniran’s music and performance explores themes of Blackness, gender, class, agency, and psychic/emotional power.

Slo ‘Mo will bookend the extravaganza with a stunning performance by Empress Darling Shear a a signature Slo ‘Mo DJ set from Selah Say to close out the night.

Folks with mobility challenges, are pregnant or postpartum or otherwise need seating, a limited number of booths can be reserved, email slomoparty@gmail.com. Sleeping Village is wheelchair accessible and there will be the usage of flash photography, a fog machine and moving lights.

Tunde Olaniran is an artist based in Flint, MI, whose work spans the worlds of music, dance, film, literature and performance art. Their debut and sophomore albums led to critical praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR, The New Yorker and countless others. They have produced globally-impactful work in collaboration with many artists, including Mona Haydar, adrienne maree brown, Ahya Simone, Nick Cave, Esperanza Spalding, and Yo-Yo Ma.
