Togetherness. Visibility. Celebration. These are the tenets of the Slo ‘Mo Family tree, whether IRL or digitally. We’re back for another joyful third Thursday 8PM-11PM CST on Zoom with uplifting sets by resident DJs VITI GRRL & Audio Jack, dance lessons by Empress Darling Shear and hosted by Kristen Kaza. We’ll be partying in the Zoom Room to elevate LGBTQ+ visibility and affirmation! Zoom details will be EMAILED within 24h of the party so a ticket is REQUIRED. There is a free ticket option for our fam who are low on funds; we feel and see you. Making the zoom details private is to protect our community from the racist, homophobic and otherwise harmful “zoom bombing” that has sadly become a trend. Because of this, please be mindful of how you share Zoom details; we request that you share them privately and not publicly for this reason.
During the live broadcast, you can chime in with requests and chat with friends in the comment section, and share photos and videos of your own living room dance party by tagging @slomoparty and using the hashtag #slomofromhomo on IG. Donations are much appreciated to support our group of DJs, event producers and performers when many our gigs have been canceled due to COVID-19 social distancing. You can venmo @slomoparty or purchase “tickets” here.
Togetherness is a tenant of Slo ‘Mo’s mission, especially in times of social distress and fear. How do we prioritize our physical health and safety while still supporting our emotional and spiritual need to feel good and connected with each other? This is an experiment we are committed to exploring, because music is not canceled. Dancing is not canceled. Celebration is not canceled. Community is NEVER canceled, in fact - we need it more than ever. We are just pivoting to new ways of doing it. See you on the virtual dance floor!
This is an experiment and therefore continuously evolving! We appreciate your input, support, and advocacy. Spread the word by sharing the Facebook event and flyer, posting to Instagram and sharing photos and videos of your living room turn ups!
