We run this MUTHA! Slo ‘Mo is a femme founded and centered project, and it’s Women’s History Month so let’s celebrate legacy-making. For the occasion, the incredible Ayana Contreras will be joining VITIGRRL on the decks. A cultural historian, memory worker, author, archivist and radio DJ as host of Vocalo’s Reclaimed Soul, Ayana ensures that the stories of sonic legends are shared. Get there early so you don’t miss a beat of Ayana’s selections from her 8000 vintage vinyl record collection!
Our dancing queens Darling Shear and Miss Angelica Grace will be gliding across the stage once again so bring your dollars, especially if you plan to spend time toward the front of the stage. These legends deserve to be showered in tips (and let’s keep them consensual)! Hosts Your Godmutha & Party Mom will be your hosts and hype women.
Our friends at Feeld, the dating app, are treating the first 100 people to purchase an advance ticket. Download the app and join the Slo ‘Mo group chat at our link in bio to retrieve the passcode to apply at checkout. (Already have the app? You can still find it in the Slo ‘Mo group chat!) Tickets are sliding scale $10-20 in advance and $20 at the door. $10 tickets are limited and intended for people with more limited means; Black queer and trans women to the front. Slo ‘Mo is an entirely queer femme founded, produced and performer centered show and ticket profits help ensure pay equity.
10 percent of ticket proceeds will benefit A Long Walk Home, now celebrating 20 years of empowering young people to end violence against girls and women. A Long Walk Home is a Chicago-based national non-profit that cultivates the next generation of leaders committed to gender equity and racial justice. Founded in 2003 by sisters Salamishah and Scheherazade Tillet, A Long Walk Home works with artists, students, activists, therapists, and community organizations and cultural institutions to elevate marginalized voices, facilitate healing, and activate social change.

Please take care to note you’re choosing to enter a space with alcohol, dark spaces, tight dance floors, flashing lights & fog, photography documentation and other elements that may impact your experience. We cannot promise safety but do as much as we can within our power in a space we don’t own or make policy for to help you feel comfortable and thought of. We are continually adapting how we enact care and welcome feedback that is collaboratively solutions focused.
